As we begin a new year of ministry, I am praying for 2019 to be a great year of opportunities for the Chilhowie Baptist Church. The blessing of doing the work of the Lord makes everyone in the church get on board by serving, giving, praying, and allowing God to use us to do the work that is before us in our community. We also need to pray for our world vision for missions to be expanded. We have been commissioned to take the gospel to the world. We must pray for God to allow us to get involved with more missionaries as they come our way and share their burden for the field that God has called them to serve.
Pastor Chuck Herrell
It is so exciting to be part of the ministry of Chilhowie Baptist Church. Jesus Christ has commissioned our local church to carry the Gospel to three places: Jerusalem, Judaea and Samaria, and unto the Uttermost part of the earth. Jerusalem is our local community (Chilhowie, Marion, Saltville, Glade, etc.). Judaea and Samaria is the area surrounding us (Southwest Virginia, Northeast Tennessee, Southern West Virginia, etc.). The uttermost is all of the world. Our annual missions conference is a time to remember the spiritual needs of the world and commit ourselves to be personally active in evangelizing our Jerusalem, Judaea and Samaria, and the Uttermost part of the earth.
